Renault has revealed the new all-electric Renault R5 Turbo 3E, designed for drifting. So the French brand is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Renault 5.

Renault R5 Turbo 3E — 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds
The rear-wheel-drive Renault R5 Turbo 3E is powered by two engines on the rear axle that produce 380 hp and 700 Nm of torque, allowing it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. The maximum speed is limited to 200 km/h.
Car is built on a tubular chassis
The car is built on a tubular chassis with special safety bars and a carbon fiber body. Overall, it is very similar to its predecessor Turbo 2. The new car has large air intakes at the front, LED optics at the front and rear, and original square “fog lights”. It has a 19-inch front wheel and a 20-inch rear wheel.
Renault R5 Turbo 3E for two people
The Renault R5 Turbo 3E is designed for two people: driver and passenger, with carbon fiber bucket seats designed with Sabelt, seat belts and a steering wheel.
The dimensions are 4 x 2.02 x 1.32 m with a wheelbase of 2.54 m. The car weighs 980 kg and the battery is 520 kg. The car has a 42 kWh lithium-ion battery that takes about two hours to fully charge from a 380-volt charger.
Renault R5 Turbo 3E will be unveiled for the first time on Sunday, September 25
The Renault R5 Turbo 3E will make its public debut at Art & Elegance 2022 in Chantilly on Sunday 25 September, before being shown at this year’s Paris Motor Show, which opens on 17 October.
