The Artemis 1 mission may still be launched in the near future.
NASA says it has completed all analysis and repair tasks after the first two launches were canceled.
Cryogenic demonstration test
All the objectives of the cryogenic demonstration test have been achieved, and the teams are now working on important safety measures and preparations for emptying the rocket fuel tanks. After discovering a hydrogen leak early in the loading process, engineers were able to fix the problem and continue as planned. Four main objectives include evaluating repairs to fix the hydrogen leak identified in the last launch attempt, using new procedures to fill rocket tanks with fuel, performing launch pumps and performing sealing tests.
Artemis 1 – The First Mission to Return Americans to the Moon
Meanwhile, NASA is not quick to say that it will try to launch the rocket again in the near future. The government said experts must first assess data, weather and other factors for the procedures to be carried out. If all goes well, the launch could happen on September 27.
Remember that Artemis 1 was the first mission to return Americans to the Moon. Artemis 1 is not intended for crew or even landing on our satellites. Instead, the Orion spacecraft will spend several days in unmanned lunar orbit. However, Artemis 2 already involves manned flight, and Artemis 3 involves landing astronauts on the moon.
