There have been a few improvements made to WhatsApp for Android in regard to recognition as a companion device and the ability to search for messages by date, but a new feature about WhatsApp calling has recently been available from the TestFlight app for beta testers who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.24.0.79 update: picture-in-picture mode!
This screenshot shows you that you can use other apps while talking on WhatsApp: this is exactly what you need to try if you want to make sure the feature is available for your account. If the feature is available for your account, you will immediately see a picture-in-picture view if you multitask with other apps, in the event that the feature is available.

Picture-In-Picture Mode
While it is important to note that although this feature is compatible with iOS 15 and newer versions of iOS, there is no indication that it will also be available to users on iOS 15 at this time, despite its compatibility with iOS 15 and newer versions of iOS. Based on our tests, this feature is currently supported on iOS 16.1 and later versions, so we may be able to identify it as a feature that will be supported by the update that will officially support iOS 16.
It has just been released to some lucky beta testers who installed the latest beta update from the TestFlight app and will also be compatible with the latest WhatsApp Business beta app, which can operate in picture-in-picture mode at the same time. We will be rolling out this feature in the coming days to more users as always.
