The leading player in the Meta-universe market has partnered with Victoryxr to develop meta-universities for students at ten American universities.
Meta’s Immersive Learning Project
As part of the Meta Immersive Learning program, the company has set aside $150 million, a portion of which will go toward the Meta Quest headset. Mark Zuckerberg‘s company also covered the design and development costs of Metaverse. The average cost of setting up a virtual campus is around $50,000.
The Meta program aims to increase student access to Metaverse technologies through a partnership with ten universities. One is the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC), a virtual campus for 45,000 students. UMGC offers five Metaverse-based courses free of charge to students.
Meta Universities – metaverse
Other partners include the University of Kansas School of Nursing, New Mexico State University, South Dakota State University, Florida A&M University, West Virginia University, Southwest Oregon Community College, California State University, Dominguez Hills and the University of Alabama and A&M University.
However, the creation of the Meta metaverse itself has come at a price thus far. In July, Reality Labs, the design and development arm of the Meta* metaverse, reported a loss of $2.8 billion in the second quarter of this year.
