Skoda is reaffirming its commitment to the environment and has announced plans to launch three new all-electric models by 2026.
New electric models by the car company
In addition to the three new electric vehicles that will hit the market in the next four years, the company will add new models over the next few years, many of which will be electric vehicles.
According to Skoda, by 2030, the share of electric vehicles in the brand’s European sales will exceed 70%. This means that the company will continue to produce new or updated models with internal combustion engines.
The reduction of CO2 emission
Skoda also wants to reduce CO2 emissions as much as possible in the production cycle. The company’s Indian plant will be carbon neutral by 2025, and one of its plants in the Czech Republic (Vrchlaby) has already achieved this goal by the end of 2020. Skoda’s other two factories in the Czech Republic are expected to be carbon neutral by 2030.
Recycling is also an important part of the company’s strategy. For the Octavia, a third of the materials used today to build cars are recycled. These are steel, aluminum, glass, plastic and insulating materials.
