In 2022, Toyota decided not to sell the large Avalon sedan in the US, but replaced it with a more interesting model – the Toyota Crown cross-sedan.
Toyota Crown Cross-Sedan Replaces Avalon in US
The Crown, which is priced at $39,950, is $3,500 more expensive than the retired Avalon, but it has a unique fastback-style body and resembles the Venza crossover.
Features of the Toyota Crown
The base model, the XLE, comes with 19-inch wheels, LED headlights with automatic high beam, a 12.3-inch media system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, and a full-drive hybrid power plant with a 236 horsepower 2.5-liter engine. The Crown has good dynamics for a large sedan, reaching 98 km/h in 7.6 seconds.
Upgraded Features in the Toyota Crown Limited
The Limited version, priced at $45,550, includes all of the features of the XLE and adds a panoramic roof, heated rear seats, ventilation and heating of the front seats, JBL acoustics with a subwoofer and amplifier.
Top-of-the-Line Toyota Crown Platinum
The most expensive version is the Platinum, which also boasts the most powerful hybrid power plant—a 2.4-liter engine with 340 horsepower. It comes with a digital key and adaptive suspension.
