Apple is set to launch a new model of the iMac lineup powered by the all-new Apple M3 chipset in the second half of this year.

New iMacs in EVT with M3 Chipset, Only 24-inch Model Update

It has been a few years since the company began upgrading iMacs with Apple Silicon chips, but they have only updated the 24-inch models so far.

According to Mark Gurman in the Power On newsletter, the next-generation iMacs, codenamed J433 and J434, are in the advanced stage of engineering validation testing (EVT) and the company is currently running production tests. However, it seems that the company is only working on the 24-inch model, which will be the only version made official in the coming months.

New iMac to Launch in 7 Colors, M3 Chipset Details at WWDC

The upcoming iMac is being tested for the same set of colors as the previously launched M1 iMac, which includes Silver, Blue, Pink, and Orange. Apple may also add Yellow, Green, and Purple color options.

The product is expected to enter mass production in three months, which means it could be officially launched in the second half of this year. More details about the M3 chipset are expected to be revealed at the WWDC later this year.

Apple began transitioning its devices from Intel processors to its own Apple Silicon chips in 2021 with the M1-powered 24-inch iMac. However, the company is yet to upgrade the 27-inch iMac with the M-series chips.
