The Tesla Cybertruck is set to feature a rear axle steering system, which will allow for a smaller turning radius and more precise turning.
Three Versions of the Cybertruck
This technology is used by car manufacturers such as Mercedes and Audi. The Cybertruck, initially planned for a 2021 launch, has been delayed to 2023 for mass production.
Tesla has announced that the Cybertruck will come in three different versions, with the entry-level single-motor, two-wheel-drive model delayed in production.
The company has formed a new fleet of Cybertruck beta prototypes, with one seen in Palo Alto. The electronics hardware will also receive an upgrade with the Full Self Driving software currently being developed on Hardware 3.
Mass Production to Start in 2023
Rumors suggest that mass production of the Cybertruck will start in 2023, with a goal to produce 250,000 units annually. The cost of the vehicle, announced in 2019, may change due to global inflation and the pandemic. If the initial price point and specs from 2019 are maintained, the Cybertruck may surpass the Model Y as the best-selling Tesla model.
