Volvo Cars is temporarily suspending production at its main plant in Torsland, Sweden, due to a shortage of semiconductor components.
“Volvo spokeswoman, Merhavit Habte, explained that we had to do this because of a shortage of semiconductors. She added that the downtime will last for at least a week.”

Since the pandemic, there has been a shortage of semiconductors, and this has become a problem for Volvo. Demand has gone up, but there is still a shortage of chips to make cars. If necessary, the downtime could be extended if components continue to be in short supply.
